Opposition leaders converge at Uhuru Park for Wiper NDC on October 10, 2025/HANDOUT
A host of opposition leaders gathered at Nairobi's Uhuru Park to mark a significant milestone for Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, as the party held its National Executive Council (NEC) and National Delegates Congress (NDC) meetings.
The high-profile event comes amid plans to rebrand the party as the Wiper Patriotic Front, signaling a renewed political direction ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Among those in attendance on Friday were DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, PLP leader Martha Karua, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, and former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
Their presence underscored the growing political significance of Kalonzo, who has in recent months emerged as a central figure in opposition politics.

Members of the NEC have already endorsed Kalonzo Musyoka as the party's presidential flagbearer for 2027.
Kalonzo's much-anticipated address is expected to outline his political vision and set the tone for the party's strategy heading into the next elections.
The NDC's agenda includes reviewing the party's constitution, debating the proposed name change, and strategizing on grassroots mobilisation to strengthen Wiper's national presence.
Delegates are also expected to adopt amendments to the Wiper Patriotic Front Constitution, review and approve NEC reports, and deliberate on any additional matters presented before the congress.
