Speaking during the handover Saturday morning, Sudi noted that the animals would not only provide an additional source of income for the chiefs and their families, but also enable them to better serve the people under their jurisdiction.
“These leaders are at the heart of our communities. By supporting them with such resources, we ensure that they can focus on their work with dignity while also improving their livelihoods,” he said.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that the initiative would have a ripple effect in the community.
He said chiefs are expected to use the empowerment to set an example for other residents in embracing agricultural ventures as a means of economic growth.
Local administrators present at the event welcomed the gesture, describing it as both symbolic and practical.
They said the livestock would improve their household food security while encouraging community members to invest more in livestock keeping.
Sudi pledged to roll out more empowerment projects in the constituency.
He recently presided over an empowerment programme targeting different groups in Kapseret, including youth and women.
This was seen as part of his broader agenda to strengthen grassroots development.
In his address during the meeting, Sudi added that he would continue to support them as they deliver on their mandates.
This, as he urged them to ensure to serve the nation with dedication.
