
A 38-year-old man was found dead in a house belonging to a woman in a love triangle confrontation in Savane area, Kakamega County.
The
body of Felix Chumba was found in the house long after he had been killed.
He
had deep cuts in the head and right hand, and the body lay in a pool of blood
after the September 24, 2025, incident.
According
to police, the deceased had visited the house of a woman believed to be his
girlfriend on Wednesday night when the incident happened.
It
was as he was in the house that the assailant, who is also a boyfriend of the
woman, suddenly showed up.
This
prompted a fight that turned fatal, police said. The woman was helpless as the
two men went physical.
The
man was hacked and fatally wounded in the head. The assailant and the woman
fled the scene after learning he had died, police said.
Police
were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy
and investigation.
The
hunt for the two suspects is ongoing, police said on Friday, even as they
appealed to them to surrender for processing.
Murder
cases linked to love triangles have been on the rise amid calls to solve them
amicably.
Elsewhere in Eshilakwe, Makunga, Kakamega County, a mob
attacked and burnt down a house belonging to a murder suspect in a rage.
The suspect was accused of killing one Oliver Makokha, who
succumbed to his injuries after an assault, police said.
A mob gathered in the area on September 24, 2025, and set
his house on fire, together with that of his brother.
The suspect was not at home at the time of the incident,
police said, adding they are investigating both murder and arson in the saga.
Police said they will enhance patrols in the area ahead of
the planned burial event amid fears of more attacks as part of the revenge.
Mob lynching incidents have been on the rise in various places in the country amid efforts to address the menace.
Police want suspects
to surrender to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.
