Police have launched investigations into a string of violent deaths reported across different counties over the weekend.

In Kuresoi, Nakuru County, the body of 32-year-old Dominic Kirui was discovered abandoned in a thicket in the Sirikwa area.

According to police, he had injuries on his head and hands believed to have been inflicted with a blunt object.

The motive of the killing remains unclear, and detectives say they are pursuing suspects. His body was moved to the mortuary for a post-mortem.

Elsewhere in Chesumei, Nandi County, a man surrendered to police after fatally assaulting his elder brother during a domestic dispute.

The victim, 40-year-old Edwin Chepkwony, died at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret on August 30. Police confirmed the suspect will face murder charges as investigations continue.

In Kisii County, 35-year-old Samuel Magori Miyogo was found unconscious on a footpath near his home in Gesusu.

Locals helped him back to his house where he later died. His body was discovered with blood oozing from his left ear. Police moved the body to the mortuary as investigations got underway.

In Tana River County, 56-year-old Ibrahim Muhamud was found murdered near a house in Madogo with deep cuts on his wrist. Blood stains traced to a nearby house suggested the killing may have occurred there before the body was dumped on the road. Police said the matter is under active investigation.

Meanwhile in Nyali, Mombasa County, a suspected robber was lynched by a mob after attempting to rob a 74-year-old woman.

The woman had just parked her car near a petrol station when a gang of three men on a motorcycle confronted her. One of them sprayed her face with a chemical before grabbing her handbag containing cash and valuables.

As the suspects attempted to escape, members of the public responded to her screams. One suspect was beaten to death, while two others were arrested.

Their motorcycle was vandalised and later taken to the police station. Officers recovered a bottle containing the chemical used in the attack and sent it for government analysis.

Police have raised concerns about the rising number of such violent incidents even as operations intensify to curb crime in the affected regions.
