Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has expressed disappointment after former nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba was denied entry into Parliament on Wednesday.

Through her X page on Thursday, Passaris stated that her prayers are with Senator Orwoba as she navigates the difficult moment.

Her concern comes after officers barred Orwoba from entering the Senate.

Passaris said no leader deserves the humiliation that Orwoba went through.

"My prayers are with Senator Gloria Orwoba as she navigates this difficult storm. No leader deserves the stress and humiliation I saw her go through yesterday," Passaris said.

"We may have had our differences, but that is immaterial. Today, as a colleague, a mother, and a woman in leadership, I stand with her in prayer,

She continued, "If there was any injustice done, I trust that the courts and ultimately God will vindicate her. May she find peace and strength in this season."

Orwoba was denied access to the Senate on Wednesday, August 27.

She did not access the Senate despite presenting reinstatement orders.

In a video seen by the Star, security officers were seen barring her entry into the Senate.

Orwoba was overheard daring the security officers to arrest her, noting she was in the senate legally.

She argued that the courts had reinstated her to work, and attempts by the UDA to have her blocked from being allowed into the senate flopped.

“I am here to go back to work as per the court’s instructions and judgements that came out, in fact, I have my badge and everything...I am just coming to work,” she said.

According to Orwoba, she is the sitting nominated senator for UDA until the courts ruled otherwise.

On August 20, the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) nullified the expulsion of former nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), citing procedural lapses in the disciplinary proceedings—procedural lapses that breached fundamental principles of fairness.
