Police in
Njoro, Nakuru County, are investigating a murder after the body of a woman who had
been reported missing was found in a river.
The body of Dorcas
Nyabuto, 48, was found floating on the river Ndarugu near Sunrise Estate after a
suspected murder.
The motive of
the murder is yet to be known, police said of the Tuesday evening incident.
The woman was
reported missing by her husband on August 21 at the local police station.
The body was
moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said, adding they are pursuing
leads on the possible killers.
Meanwhile, a
35-year-old woman was found murdered and her body left in her house in
Nairobi’s Mutuini, Waithaka area.
The body of Grace Muthoni was
found in her house with bruises on the neck, long after the incident had
happened.
Police said her husband is
missing after the Tuesday, August 26, morning incident.
The tragedy was discovered by
the deceased’s 12-year-old son, who had rushed back to the house after
forgetting some of the items he was using at his Nembu Primary School.
The boy rushed to his
grandmother’s house and informed her that the mother was not responding
to his knocks on their door.
The grandmother, according to
the police, called the daughter in vain as she was not responding.
She also called her son-in-law
to seek help. She later rushed to the house, where she found it locked from the inside.
She said she sought help forcing
the door to open where the body of Muthoni was found lying on the bed.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said they are
investigating a murder in the incident.
The body was moved to the
mortuary pending an autopsy.
