Is a senior opposition figure in trouble? A major rally meant
to challenge the government failed spectacularly and furious allies are blaming
his alleged poor groundwork and inflated promises. Despite the release of resources, mobilisation fell desperately short, sparking whispers of
internal sabotage. The debacle has ignited a fierce blame game, deepening
divisions within the camp. Rivals are now reportedly seizing the moment to
curtail the politician’s influence ahead of future events, leaving the
political vehicle’s unity in question.

The politics of 2027 seem to be unfolding so fast. Staff
within a ministry are said to have already taken sides and are now aligning
themselves accordingly. We are told a group recently met at a city hotel to
plan how to supposedly sabotage a programme currently being
implemented. Our mole whispers that the meeting had the blessings of a
once-powerful politico eyeing a big seat. The attendees also agreed to mobilise
other colleagues in another ministry to form a strong movement. After the
meeting, each of them was allegedly paid Sh50,000 as appreciation.

Operations of a critical state department have been rocked by
a fierce fight pitting two top functionaries. The two are allegedly fighting
about who should call the shots. One is said to be angry that his colleague
has apparently taken a sizeable chunk of portfolios he
previously held. The roles were reorganised in recent changes, to the chagrin
of the officer who had been handling the assignments. A fly on the wall
intimates that the man has threatened to quit, other than have another take his
‘lucrative dockets’. A multibillion shilling deal, the superintendence of key
state agencies is in question.

A junior officer at a popular address is raring for a fight
with a politico whom he accuses of being allegedly too
cosy with his spouse. The man accuses the politico of spending long odd hours
with his spouse under the guise of work. Trouble began after the politico
was supposedly overheard introducing the woman in question, a
scion of a prominent family, as his wife, to the shock of other staffers who
knew her. The officer, on getting word of the same, has vowed to teach the
politico a lesson.
