Chaos erupted as Former Deputy
President Rigathi Gachagua's convoy encountered youths who pelted his team with
stones at City Cabanas stage.
Cape Media's TV 47 crew equipment were damaged during the exercise.
The convoy that was sneaking
from the JKIA as he headed to the Nairobi Central Business District was
disrupted, with Gachagua and other leaders forced to take over.
The youths who were yet to be
identified arrived using boda bodas and started raining missiles on the crowd.
Several vehicles were damaged,
including those carrying journalists, while motorists and pedestrians lost
their items, including mobile phones.
Some people were injured, and
by 3 pm East African time, the convoy was still stuck.
The procession was seen as
peaceful, save for a brief scuffle inside the airport as Gachagua's supporters
were leaving the airport.
