The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has announced the cancellation of its recent job advertisement for the position of Security Warden.

In a notice in the local dailies on Monday, PSC, through the clerk, stated that the advertisement which appeared on July 1, 2025, has been withdrawn.

“Notice is hereby given that the advertisement by the Parliamentary Service Commission below for the position of Security Warden II(PSC 4) PSC/PJS/01/2025, which was published on July 1, has been cancelled,” the notice read.

“Any inconvenience occasioned is highly regretted.”

The applications were to be addressed to the clerk of the Senate.

The advert by PSC had initially invited applications from qualified individuals to fill 38 vacancies for the role.

The position involved various duties, including manning security checkpoints, screening visitors, operating security equipment, as well as controlling vehicle and pedestrian access at the gates for orderly entry into parliament.

Applicants for the position were expected to possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of D+.

Consequently, the applicants were expected to have undergone paramilitary training and have served in a uniformed service for at least three years.

The responsibilities also included monitoring surveillance systems, maintaining the occurrence book and providing timely first Aid services as may be required and responding to security incidents.

The recruitment process had been set to close on July 15, 2025, with applications to be submitted either physically to the Commission’s offices at County Hall, Nairobi, or via email.

“Application must include a cover letter, a duly completed Parliamentary Service Commission job application form which can be downloaded from www.parliament.go.ke or obtained from the office of the Head of Commission Secretariat, 1st Floor, County Hall, Parliament buildings, copies of academic certification or testimonials,” the notice read in part.

With the cancellation, PSC has, however, not provided details on whether the position will be re-advertised or the reasons for the withdrawal.
