PSC to interview candidates for Registrar of Political Parties on August 11

The Public Service Commission (PSC) will on Monday, August 11, 2025, conduct interviews to fill the vacant positions of Registrar and Assistant Registrar of Political Parties.

The exercise will take place at the Commission House on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

In a statement released by PSC Director of Public Communication Browne Kutswa, the Commission will interview ten candidates for the position of Registrar of Political Parties and another ten for Assistant Registrar of Political Parties.

“The Commission will interview ten candidates for the position of Registrar of Political Parties and another ten for Assistant Registrar of Political Parties who were shortlisted from among a long list of applicants,” the statement said.

The interview schedule, including names, counties, and interview times, has been posted on the PSC website and was also published in local newspapers on Thursday, August 7.

The selection process follows the conclusion of the application period, which ran from July 15 to August 5, in line with Sections 33, 34, and 34A of the Political Parties Act, Cap 7D.

The positions were advertised widely across print, radio, television, and the Kenya Gazette.

PSC noted that the shortlist reflects Kenya’s diversity and commitment to inclusive public service.

“The shortlist of candidates reflects regional diversity, gender equity, and inclusion of persons with disabilities, in line with the values of the Constitution and the Commission's commitment to inclusivity in public appointments.”

All candidates are required to report at least 20 minutes before their scheduled interview time with original copies of their identity cards, academic and professional certificates, and other documents as outlined in the shortlisting notice.

The public has also been invited to participate in the vetting process by submitting credible information on any candidate’s suitability.

“Members of the public with credible information regarding the suitability of any of the shortlisted candidates are invited to submit such information through sworn affidavits to the [email protected] by close of business on Friday, 8th August 2025.”

The interviews will be livestreamed via the Commission’s YouTube channel @psckenya, and on its official Facebook, X, and LinkedIn pages.
