President William Ruto has officially commissioned the rehabilitation of the 3.1 kilometre Bridge Savannah–Stage 17 Masimba Road, which traverses Embakasi East Constituency.
In a statement, Ruto noted that the
government has rolled out a comprehensive plan that will change the face of
Nairobi.

“We have rolled out a comprehensive
plan that will change the face of Nairobi to make it a top global hub,” Ruto
said.
Ruto stated that in the first phase, the government will construct at least 70 kilometres of roads within the city to facilitate trade, ease traffic congestion, and spur economic growth.

Ruto also offered to contribute Sh 5 million for the completion of a hospital to ensure that members of that area have access to quality healthcare.
Leaders, including the Nairobi County Governor, Johnson Sakaja, accompanied the President.
The 3.1 km Bridge Savannah – Stage 17 Masimba Road rehabilitation project is a road improvement initiative managed by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).
The project is part of a larger effort that also includes
maintenance work on Jogoo Road and Landhies Road.
The tender notice for this project was issued in November 2024.
