President William Ruto has underscored the importance of engaging leaders to make Kenya a first-world country. 

The President said that he will continue reach out to all the leaders in the country for transformation and development.

Speaking on Sunday during the Africa Inland Church Ziwani 70th Anniversary, the President said he has held talks with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He added that the move to transform Kenya to a first-world country has seen him engage KANU Chairman Gideon Moi recently.

“I have spoken to many leaders in our country. I have spoken to nearly 80 per cent of Members of Parliament one-on-one to explain to them why we are moving this country from a third-world country to a first-world country. I have had a conversation with the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, I have as well engaged my brother former President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Ruto said.

“I have engaged many leaders including KANU Chairman Gideon Moi recently on transforming Kenya from a third-world to a first-world nation."

The President said he will continue to engage all the leaders until Kenya comes together to be a first-world country in the current lifetime adding that it is possible.”

Since he assumed presidential leadership, the President has been meeting grassroots, local and international leaders at State House.

He made a pact with Raila under the Broad-Based government to unite the country and advance development.

The President has also been seen with Uhuru at State House during an engagement to promote peace within African countries.

Recently, Ruto held talks with Gideon Moi at State House, promising to engage the KANU leadership in the Broad-based government.

Ruto on Sunday said Kenya will transition from a third-world to a first-world nation within the next three decades.

 The President added that Kenya has remained in the developing category for too long, but his administration is determined to change that through faith, unity, and hard work.

“I want to say this in church that by God’s grace we have been in the third world for far too long. We have had our fair share, and it is now time, by God’s grace, the efforts of our hands, the blessings of our plans, and the energy and unity of the people of Kenya, to move this country from a third world to a first world country in the next 30 years,” Ruto said.

He emphasised that the government has a clear vision and plan to transform the economy and improve livelihoods across the country.

The President said Kenya has the ideas, resources, and human capital required to achieve this ambitious goal.
