President William Ruto has declared that he is fully prepared for the 2027 election, saying Kenyans will be the ultimate judges of his track record.

Speaking during a meeting with bishops, pastors, and evangelists from the Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Kenya, State House in Nairobi, Ruto said he is confident in his development agenda, citing the economy, agriculture, affordable housing, markets, youth employment, and healthcare reforms as key areas of focus.

"I am ready for the test. That exam we will sit in 2027, I am ready for it," President Ruto said.

He insisted that he would answer to the people based on the work his administration has done.

"You will come and ask me. On the economy, I will answer. On agriculture, you will see for yourselves. On the Social Health Authority, you will tell me. On affordable housing, on markets, on youth employment— you will tell me," he said.

The President challenged his political rivals to show their alternative vision for the country, accusing them of lacking a clear plan.

"You will tell me who has a better plan than the one I have," he said.

Ruto dismissed the opposition, stating they are incapable of presenting viable solutions to the country’s problems.

"These other guys (opposition) cannot tell you anything about the economy because they don't know, and they don't have a plan," he said.

"They can't tell you anything about our children's education because they don't know, and they don't have a plan. They won't tell you anything," he added.

According to Ruto, the only message from his opponents is criticism and slogans.

"They will only tell you, 'Ruto must go,' 'Wantam,' 'Kasongo’… Have they ever explained anything about agriculture even once?" he asked.

He also questioned whether the opposition had presented a different healthcare strategy from the one his government has implemented.

"Do they have a different plan from the one I have on healthcare? That is the reality, my friends," Ruto concluded.

On youth and protests, the Head of State said leaders must resist the urge to incite the youth.

"We must work together to find lasting solutions to the challenge of unemployment. On our part, we are making deliberate interventions to create jobs. Labour mobility has enabled 400,000 young Kenyans to secure employment abroad in the past two years," he said.

President Ruto said 320,000 young people are fully engaged through the Affordable Housing Programme.

"Another 180,000 are earning a livelihood in digital jobs in Jitume Labs at our technical colleges and Tatu City Special Economic Zone. Establishment of digital hubs in our 1,450 wards is underway. The government has also recruited 76,000 teachers and an additional 24,000 will be recruited by January 2026. This is the largest teacher recruitment drive in our country’s history."
