President William Ruto’s long-time aide, Farouk Kibet, has
strongly condemned the recent anti-government demonstrations, warning that
attempts to remove the Head of State through violent protests will not succeed.
Speaking during a women’s empowerment program in Likuyani,
Kakamega County, Farouk dismissed the June 25 protests, which led to the loss of
lives, destruction of property, and the burning of police stations, as reckless
and politically instigated.
“We condemn what happened in Nairobi. You cannot attack a
police officer in the name of Gen Z,” Farouk said.
“The habit of having
protests that are infiltrated by goons will have to stop.”
Farouk was accompanied by a host of leaders, including Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Soy MP David Kiplagat, and Kesses MP Julius Rutto.

The team held similar forums in Soy, Uasin Gishu County,
aimed at promoting peace, national unity, and empowering women at the
grassroots.
The leaders accused a section of the opposition of
exploiting young people for selfish political ends.
They alleged that the demonstrations were being funded and
coordinated by political figures seeking to destabilise the government.
“For those working day and night to incite Kenyans against
President Ruto, we want to tell you that you will not succeed,” said Kibet.
“We will reject tribal clashes being perpetuated by some opposition leaders. As Kenyans, we must protect our peace.”

Kericho Senator Cherargei went a step further, accusing the opposition of being behind the chaos.
“We want Gachagua arrested and prosecuted,”
he said during the event.
His comments were
echoed by Aaron Cheruiyot, who stated, “Kenya should not be a country
entertaining anarchists.”
The leaders urged Kenyans, especially the youth, to avoid being used by politicians and instead focus on development. They emphasised the importance of using the ballot, not the streets, to express political demands.
“We want to tell some of the opposition leaders that you
will not succeed in chaos, no matter how much money you pump into violent
protest,” Farouk reiterated.
Farouk further defended the President’s track record,
highlighting the reduction in fertiliser prices as a key achievement of the
Ruto administration.
“President William Ruto has done a lot for Kenyans. He has lowered the cost of fertiliser to enable farmers to cultivate in mass,” he said.
The women's empowerment programs focused on uniting communities
and reinforcing peaceful coexistence, with leaders calling on all Kenyans to
support efforts that build a more stable and prosperous nation.
