Hundreds of young people on Wednesday poured into the streets of Eldoret, President William Ruto’s hometown, to join the nationwide Gen Z protests.

The demonstrations began at the Eldoret main market, with protesters marching through the town’s major streets, chanting slogans and calling for reforms.

Business owners shut down their premises as police officers were swiftly deployed. Despite the heavy presence of security personnel, the protests remained peaceful throughout.

Chants by the youths echoed through the streets as the youth maintained a non-violent stance, drawing attention without confrontation.
