President William Ruto has called on all Kenyans to rally behind the police and other security agencies to keep the country secure, peaceful, and stable.

The President praised the police for their commitment to keeping the country safe and warned that peace and stability are the foundation of a functioning nation.

Speaking on June 24, 2025, the President said he was proud of the work being done by security officers across the country and pledged full government support to ensure they carry out their mandate effectively and within the law.

“To our policemen and women, I want to say that as President, I am very proud of what our security agencies have done to secure our nation, protect property, and allow our families to sleep in peace,” Ruto said.

“Every person who puts their life on the line for this nation has my full backing, and that of the Government of Kenya.”

Ruto emphasised that peace, security, and stability are the pillars of a nation and warned that without them, Kenya would lose its identity and sense of order.

“Without peace and security, without stability, we don’t have a nation. It’s just that simple,” he said.

“As Kenyans, we must be clear about the direction we want to take and how we get there.”

The Head of State urged all citizens and leaders to respect and support the police, saying those who try to undermine or intimidate law enforcement officers are hurting the country’s progress.

“To those who want to demean or intimidate our security agencies, I say you are doing the wrong thing,” Ruto stated.

“Our security men and women deserve every support we can offer. We must work with them, not against them.”

He offered a special assurance to police officers across all ranks—from constables to senior commanders—that his administration would provide the necessary backing and infrastructure to help them perform their duties lawfully and effectively.

“To every police officer, from the man on the beat to senior leadership, I assure you that the government will stand by you as you protect our country,” he said.

“We have put in place sufficient infrastructure to ensure you carry out your work within the law.”

Ruto appealed to citizens to recognise and support the vital role of security personnel in ensuring national stability, saying, “Let us support our police officers so they can secure our families, our properties, and our future as a nation.”
