Deputy President Kithure Kindiki began the week with a church service on June 15 at AIC Nairagie Enkare in Narok East Constituency, Narok County, where he joined congregants for Sunday worship and a thanksgiving service.

“We are firmly on track in the journey of our country's economic recovery and focused on fulfilling all the commitments made to the people of Kenya to transform their lives,” Kindiki said.

Referencing a sermon by Pastor Nicholas Lemiso drawn from Judges Chapter 8, Kindiki emphasised the importance of remaining focused on the task of nation-building despite criticism.

He noted that while the government continues to develop the economy and improve livelihoods, it must also foster unity and patriotism among all Kenyans.

“We are a listening and responsible government that appreciates divergent views and is ready to improve ongoing programmes and projects,” he added.

Kindiki was accompanied by MPs Ken Aramat (Narok East) and Gabriel Tongoyo (Narok West), several MCAs, and other local leaders.

That same day, the Deputy President responded to remarks by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who had said he would not work with the Kenya Kwanza government ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I hear my big brother Kalonzo has said he doesn’t wish to work with me politically. That is fine with me,” Kindiki wrote on his X account.

“For the unkind things he has said about me, I won’t answer him back publicly—not because I can’t, but because I never do public duels with people I respect. Nevertheless, if he continues with his falsehoods unprovoked, I will happily tackle him head-on.”

He stressed that “respect is a two-way street,” adding that Kalonzo would remain the “good big brother I have known for decades.”

Between Monday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 18, there were no publicly recorded events or engagements involving the Deputy President.

On Thursday and Friday, Kindiki attended the 3rd National Executive Retreat and midterm review at the KCB Leadership Centre in Nairobi City County.

The retreat, chaired by President William Ruto, brought together senior members of the Executive and featured an address by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Thursday, June 19, Kindiki stated that the robust reforms initiated by the Kenya Kwanza government had brought about accelerated transformation over the last two and a half years.

He outlined key focus areas, including the economy, agriculture and livestock development, education, health, the digital superhighway, MSMEs, and job creation.

“In the second half of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s first term, we will build on the gains made in fast-tracking socio-economic growth at the grassroots level,” he said.

He added that the government would expand job and income opportunities both locally and abroad, increase citizen access to the Taifa Care programme for affordable and quality healthcare, and dignify the daily toil of small-scale traders through improved market infrastructure.

He also emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring access to quality, relevant education for all Kenyan children.

On Friday, Kindiki attended the second day of the Cabinet retreat and thanked former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for his “insights and thought-provoking ideas.”

Raila’s presentation focused on the implementation of priority infrastructure development programmes aimed at catalysing Kenya’s socio-economic transformation.

Kindiki said the presentation aligned with Kenya Kwanza’s commitment to equitable development across all regions and equal access to opportunities for all citizens.

“From the milestones achieved in stabilising the economy to the progress in agriculture and related sectors that support most of our citizens, the journey to develop our country from the grassroots is well underway,” he said.

The Deputy President reiterated that the government would build on progress in revitalising MSMEs to spur inclusive growth, create jobs, enhance incomes, and provide access to quality and affordable healthcare.

The 3rd National Executive Retreat in Karen concluded with a comprehensive review of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and an assessment of ongoing government programmes and projects.
