

Two unidentified men were killed in a mob justice incident early Wednesday morning in Huruma, Nairobi.
According to a report filed at Huruma Police Station, the attack occurred at Mabatini area, about two kilometres west of the station.
Police say the two male adults, aged between 20 and 30 years, were allegedly attempting to steal a motorcycle from a rider identified as William Mudavadi.
“The victim raised alarm where irate members of the public cornered one and subjected him to mob injustice,” the police report states.
The second suspect, who tried to escape, was also caught by the mob.
“His accomplice who had attempted to escape was also intercepted by the mob and suffered the same fate,” it adds.
The bodies of the two were set on fire and burned beyond recognition.
Officers from Huruma Police Station responded to the scene after being alerted by Mabatini village elder, Mr. Joseph Ogutu.
Crime Scene Investigators processed and documented the scene. The bodies were taken to City Mortuary for preservation, pending identification and autopsy.
Police have launched investigations into the incident. The case is being handled by officers from the Starehe DCI office.
In another case on June 7, a man suspected of attempting to vandalise a network booster was burnt to death
According to a police report, the man, only identified as Wafula, was caught at 6:30 am, at Kathuma area, before being lynched and burnt beyond recognition.
“He was burnt beyond recognition. The remains were collected and taken to Makueni General Mortuary,” the police report said.
Officers from Makueni Police Station, Nziu Police Post, confirmed the incident and documented the scene.
One cell phone was recovered at the scene.
Elsewhere, a suspected phone thief was killed on Saturday morning along City Park Road in Nairobi, following an alleged attempted robbery.
According to police, the incident occurred around 10 am after the unidentified man reportedly attempted to snatch a mobile phone from a pedestrian.
Members of the public pursued him and caught up with him near City Park, where he was fatally assaulted.
Officers from Parklands Police Station responded to the scene but found the man had already succumbed to his injuries.
No stolen items were recovered from the deceased.
