
A police officer died after
collapsing in his toilet in Naitiri area, Kimilili, Bungoma County.
Corporal Thomas Kiliswa had been moved to the area pending his retirement in a year.
Police are
investigating the incident.
He was found unconscious in his
toilet on Sunday.
His wife told police he had
gone for a call of nature but failed to return.
The wife went to check on him
and found that he had collapsed in the toilet and was unconscious.
She raised an alarm and was
immediately rushed to Jambos Medical Centre in Naitri before being referred to
Kiminini Cottage Hospital for more specialised treatment, since he had not
regained consciousness.
He died at the facility, police
said. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
The police are investigating
the incident. The death could be related to pressure and trauma related to his
work.
Meanwhile, police in Koibatek,
Baringo, are investigating an incident in which a body was found at a
waterfall after suspected drowning.
The body was found floating at Qurusalal waterfalls.
Police officers rushed to the scene, and upon reaching it,
it was established that an unknown male adult had drowned at the said
waterfall.
The body was floating in a
prone position, and there were no physical injuries that could be seen, except
a bandage on the left wrist.
The body was moved to the
mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Kiptagich, Kuresoi area, a man identified as Wesley Kibet Tanui, 34, was found dead in his single-room timber-made house.
On the floor, there was some
vomit substance, and blood was oozing from the nose.
Police said they moved the body
to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Matungulu, Machakos County, a body of a man was
found in Ituma River under a bridge.
The deceased was
identified as David Kiio Muteki, 70.
The man is believed
to have been murdered elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene, police said.
