Man killed, body dumped on railway line in Kahawa West, Nairobi

Detectives are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found dumped on the railway line in Kahawa West area, Nairobi.

The body was found on Sunday afternoon, long after he had been murdered.

According to the police, the body seemed to have been delivered and dumped at the site after being murdered elsewhere.

Police said the body had visible injuries when it was discovered. The scene was undisturbed then, indicating it was secondary.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

Meanwhile, a man was arrested after he stabbed and killed a woman within Uhuru market, Jogoo Road, Nairobi.

The assailant had come to a knitting shop and requested to talk to one of the female staff members there.

The victim, identified as Felister Katua declined to talk to him.

Witnesses said the assailant walked out, and after a short while, he came back walked straight to where the deceased was and stabbed her in the left side of the chest.

He tried to escape the scene but members of the public cornered the suspect and started to beat him up.

Police on patrol responded to the scene and saved him from the mob.

A kitchen knife with bloodstains was recovered at the scene. The body was moved to the mortuary pending investigations and autopsy.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

Elsewhere in Kibiku, Kabete, Kiambu County, a man died after being assaulted in a confrontation.

Police said Peter Mungai Karori succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at the Kenyatta National Hospital while undergoing treatment.

The accused assailant was arrested and arraigned in court on where he was charged with an offense of assault causing bodily harm.

Police now plan to charge him with murder.

In Kericho’s Belgut area, a woman aged 35 died in the hospital after allegedly being battered by her husband in their house.

Police said Nancy Awuor succumbed to her injuries in Soin-Sigwer hospital, where she had been rushed to after an assault in a domestic quarrel.

Police said the assailant is yet to be found and arrested for questioning and possible arraignment.

Detectives are hunting for the suspect.
