The National Youth Service on Thursday, May 29, 2025, hosted Public Service and Human Capital Development Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku for his first official visit to the institution’s headquarters, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s ongoing transformation agenda.
During the visit, CS Ruku presided over a ceremonial leadership handover at the NYS Council, where Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Njuki Mwaniki formally handed over the chairmanship to Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Adan Mulata.

Commandant General James K. Tembur, MBS, expressed heartfelt appreciation to outgoing chair Lt. Gen. Mwaniki for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the NYS mission.
He also welcomed Lt. Gen. Mulata, voicing confidence in his ability to steer the council into a new era of excellence and impact.
