Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has said that the court order barring him from accessing his official office will not affect service delivery.

Addressing the media on Thursday, May 29, 2025, Natembeya stated that the court’s decision might even allow him to discover new and better ways to serve the residents.

Natembeya was barred on May 20, 2025, from accessing his office in Kitale Town for 60 days.

The county boss said the ruling would only motivate him to find innovative ways to serve the people, emphasising that the office of the governor is about service, not a physical building.

“The office of the governor is a service office; it is not just a structural building,” Natembeya said while addressing the media from the Kiminini Sub-County office.

He added that, given his work ethic and leadership style, he would continue to engage with residents and fulfil his duties from alternative locations.

“I am a grassroots person, and I don’t see any problem. The 60 days will allow me to work differently,” he said.

As part of his constitutional responsibilities, Natembeya announced that he would hold official meetings at various Sub-County offices on a rotational basis.

“This Friday, for instance, I will hold the monthly Cabinet meeting here at the Kiminini Sub-County office,” he said.

"This initiative underscores my commitment to decentralised service delivery, ensuring that every corner of Trans Nzoia County feels the impact of my development agenda."

On Monday, May 26, 2025, Natembeya held a series of rallies across five counties in Western Kenya as he made his first public appearances following his arraignment.

The governor landed at Kisumu International Airport on Monday morning before embarking on a packed itinerary that included roadside rallies and stopovers.

He was received by several county MCAs and supporters before holding a mega rally in Kitale, which focused on themes of unity, spiritual reflection, and community development.

Rallying residents through his Tawe Movement, Natembeya addressed crowds in Luanda, Chavakali, Kakamega, Malava, Webuye, Bungoma, Chwele, Kimilili, Kamukuywa, and Kiminini.

This marked Natembeya’s return to the public stage after being charged on May 20, 2025.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on a Sh500,000 cash bail.

He remains barred from accessing his office for the next 60 days.
