Speaking on Thursday at Nyanturago, Nyaribari Chache, in Kisii County, the DP said the government will not practice shareholder politics fronted by a section of opposition leaders and initiate development projects in alignment with voting patterns.
"Don't be deceived into sidelining other communities; you are trading people with businesses all over the country, so work with other regions. Whatever you produce here has demand outside Kisii, those are the buyers, not you," he said.
"So, don't be deceived into embracing tribal politics; when the time for elections comes, back whoever you want and let's square it out at the ballot. Whoever wins should be thankful to God, and whoever loses should wait for another opportunity," he added.
Kindiki advocated for non-abrasive or chest-thumping politics, saying "siasa ni kubembelezana," implying a reciprocal act of wooing each other on the basis of ideology rather than political might.
The Kisii region has in recent days given a strong indication of leaning heavily on the opposition side especially after former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i declared that he would be challenging President William Ruto at the 2027 General Elections.
The DP said regardless of which side the region chooses to align itself with regarding the forthcoming polls, him and the President will not cease their visits to the vote-rich region to continue asking for votes - politely.
"Hakuna mtu atatoroka mwingine. Tutatafutana mpaka tupatane kwa sababu siasa ni kubembelezana (No one will desert the other). We will seek each other because politics is about wooing one another," he said.
Kindiki said he will continue exercising his constitutional mandate of helping the President in implementing development projects fairly.
"There are those saying those who voted for the President should get development and those who didn't should get nothing. I say no, that's against the constitution. The constitution says, Whoever is elected president is everyone's president until the next elections."
Kindiki was speaking when he joined other leaders to support MSEs in Nyaribari Chache Constituency, Kisii county through their Savings and Credit Cooperatives(SACCOs).
The initiative aims to supplement the other support initiatives being implemented through various government ministries, departments, and agencies.
The DP said support for MSEs remains a priority since they hold the key to Kenya’s economic transformation from the bottom upwards.
To revitalize MSEs, Kindiki said the government is implementing several programmes, notably the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (Nyota) and the Kenya Jobs for Economic Transformation (KJET).
