
The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) will today flag off a group of 350 pilgrims heading to Makkah, Saudia Arabi for the Hajj.
Every year, millions of Muslims from around the world gather annually in Mecca to perform Hajj, the sacred Muslim pilgrimage.
The hajj is the fifth of the fundamental Muslim practices and institutions known as the Five Pillars of Islam.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale will be the chief guest during the ceremony set for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Also in attendance will be officials from the Saudi Arabian embassy, and the leadership of SUPKEM.
CPIC meetings
The Senate County Public Investment Committee will today meet the county executive of Kisumu to interrogate reports of the Auditor-General on the financial statements of Kisumu Water and Sanitation Company Limited, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisumu County Referral Level 4 Hospital and the City of Kisumu for Financial Year 2023/2024.
It is also scheduled to meet the county executive of Embu to interrogate reports on the financial statements of Embu Water and Sanitation Company Limited, Ngagaka Water and Sanitation Company Limited, Kyeni Water and Water Sewerage Company Limited, Embe Water and Sanitation Company Limited, Municipality and Embu Level 5 Hospital for Financial Year 2023/2024.
Finance Bill, 2025
The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning continues with the public hearings on the Finance Bill, 2025 and the Virtual Asset Providers Bill, 2025 today.
The two bills are being considered simultaneously until May 30, 2025. The hearings will be conducted at the Edge Convention Center, South C Nairobi.
