
The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that rains will continue in various parts of the country.
In a weather update for Tuesday, May 20, to Monday, May 26, 2025, Kenya Met listed several regions which will experience rainfalls in the stated period.
“Rainfall will persist in parts of the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, Coast, Western and North-western Kenya,” the department said.
Daytime temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius are expected over much of the Coast, North-eastern, North-western and parts of the South-eastern lowlands.
The night-time temperatures may drop below 10 degrees Celsius in areas around the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Central Rift Valley and Mt Kilimanjaro.
In Nairobi, the weather will be mostly cloudy with occasional sunny intervals, and temperatures will range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Mombasa is expected to be sunny with showers, with temperatures ranging between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius.
Kisumu will experience a mix of rain and sunny intervals, with temperatures fluctuating between 19 and 28 degrees Celsius.
Eldoret, much like Kisumu, will see rains accompanied by sunny intervals, with temperatures ranging from 13 to 22 degrees Celsius.
Nakuru will enjoy sunny intervals, with temperatures ranging between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Nyeri is expected to receive rain with sunny intervals. Temperatures will range from 15 to 23 degrees Celsius.
Marsabit will remain under sunny intervals, with temperatures varying between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius.
In Kakamega, residents should prepare for a mix of rain and sunny intervals. Temperatures will dip to 16 degrees Celsius at the lowest and rise to 26 degrees Celsius at the highest.
Garissa will be mostly sunny with intervals of sunshine expected throughout the day.
Temperatures will range from a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius.
Lamu is forecast to have sunny intervals accompanied by showers.
The temperature will vary between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius.
Lodwar will experience sunny intervals with daytime temperatures peaking at 38 degrees Celsius and a low of 25 degrees Celsius.
Makindu will be partly cloudy with sunny intervals. Temperatures are expected to fluctuate between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Malindi will witness a mix of sunny intervals and showers, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.
Mandera is expected to experience sunny intervals throughout the day, with a high of 38 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius.
Moyale will also have sunny intervals, with temperatures ranging from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius.
In Voi, sunny intervals are anticipated, and temperatures will range between 19 and 28 degrees Celsius.
Wajir will see sunny intervals with a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius.
Machakos is expected to be mostly cloudy with occasional sunny intervals. Temperatures will range from 14 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Meru will experience sunny intervals, with temperatures varying between 16 and 26 degrees Celsius.
Kitale is forecast to have rain with sunny intervals. The temperature is expected to drop to 13 degrees Celsius and rise to a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius.
Narok will enjoy sunny intervals, with the mercury ranging from 15 to 24 degrees Celsius.
Kericho will receive rains accompanied by sunny intervals, with temperatures ranging between 13 and 22 degrees Celsius.
Kisii is also set for rains and sunny intervals. Minimum temperatures will be around 16 degrees Celsius, while highs will reach 24 degrees Celsius.
Kitui will experience sunny intervals with temperatures varying between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius.
