Kenya Power has listed areas scheduled for power interruption on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
The power company said areas in eight counties will face power cuts at diverse times between 9 am and 5 pm.
The utility firm stated that the power cuts facilitate system maintenance.
Counties to be affected include Nairobi, Nandi, Kisii, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Kiambu and Garissa.
Nairobi
In Nairobi, areas to be affected from 9 am to 5 pm include Suswa Road, Suswa Lane, Visa Oshal School, Part of General Mathenge Road, Part of 2nd and 3rd Parklands and Part of Kusi Lane.
Other areas in Nairobi to face power interruption are Part of Mbagathi Road, Akila III, Airport View East, Jonathan Gloag, Part of Langata Road, AP Uhuru Camp, Mbagathi Road, Nairobi West Prison, Deliverance, Dam View East, White Star Academy, Nyayo Highrise East, AMREF, Canaan East, Montezuma Funeral Home, Mbagathi Hospital, Defense Memorial Hospital, Texas Cancer Center and Qwetu Mbagathi Way.
Kenya Water Institute, Akiba Easts, Akiba Court 3, Five Star Easts, Tabsera Academy, Memon Easts, Halai Easts, Bellevue School, Ruby Easts, Midlands Court East, Bandari Villas, St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic, Masjid Bukhari Mosque, Soledo Springs East, Tepro Homes, Manifest East, Sifa Springs East, Missionary School, Manifest Apartments and Nairobi Water.
Nandi
Parts of Nandi to face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm are Tulwo, Kimungoror, Chepterwai and adjacent customers.
Others are Kamobo and adjacent customers.
Kisii
In Kisii, areas to face power interruption from 9 am to 5 pm are Kangwana, Chirichiri, Kianate, Nyangéni, Birongo and adjacent customers.
Other areas in Kisii include Nyamache T/Fact & Market, Emenwa Market, Matierio Secondary, Igare Market, Nyamagwa Boy and Girls, Boitangare Secondary, Matierio, Keigamere Safaricom Booster, Kiobegi, Nyabite, Kionduso Secondary and adjacent customers.
Nyeri
Parts of Nyeri will face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm.
They are Eucabet, Kangaita Market, Gondo, Mirichu Primary and adjacent customers.
Murang’a
Areas in Murang’a, including Muranga High, Mukuyu Market, Kahuhia Girls, Kirogo Boys, Muwasco Head Office, Muchungucha, Kiria, Yamugwe Market, Gathanji Market and Maragi will face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm.
Kirinyaga
Parts of Kirinyaga will face power interruption from 9 am to 5 pm.
They are Kiaga, Spenza Millers, Abai Lodges, Part of Kagio Town, Thumaita West, Multiple Academy, Kinyakiiru, Kiandai, Baricho, Mukithi, Getuya and Kareria Booster.
Kiambu
Areas in Kiambu to face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm are New Wood East, Kalimoni Secondary, Star of Hope East, Kwa Woria, Bristar Girls School, Theta Hotel, Faith East, Gate C, St. Peters School, Parts of Gachororo, Juja Police Station, Elmark East, Juja Main Stage, Green Field East, Juja Sewage, Juja South, Kanini Farm East, Kenyatta Road, Turraco Village, Superhighway East, Juja Modern Hospital and adjacent customers.
Other parts of Kiambu are Ting’ang’a C/Factory, Tinganga Water, Tinganga Msalaba, Tinganga Market, Tinganga Secondary and Ndumberi Dairy Tinganga.
Other areas in Kiambu include Mugumo, Fig Tree, St. Anthony, Kiu River, Kamiti Ridge, Marion School, Kamiti Corner, Wood Creek School and adjacent customers.
At the same time, areas including Mushroom, Thindigwa, GG, Brainstone, Tsavo, Quickmatt, and Naivas Thindigwa will face power cuts.
Garissa
Areas in Garissa will face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm.
They are Garissa Referral Hospital, Garissa Ndogo, Garissa Water Revenue Offices, ADC, Dobale, Bulla Mzuri, Bashal, Tawakal, South C, Garissa County Assembly and adjacent customers.
