Ruto was in the county on Tuesday before crossing over to Ntimaru in Migori County.

They will be in Narok East and West subcounties to inspect and commission new projects.

Papal election

All eyes will be on the Vatican, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy, today as cardinals gather at the Sistine Chapel to elect a new Pope to succeed the late Pope Francis, who died last month.

A total of 133 cardinals from various nationalities will participate in the process.

Kalonzo to hold event on 40 years in politics

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka will host a cocktail event to reflect on his 20 Years of Diplomacy and 40 years in the Political Discourse.

It will be held at the Gem Forest MGallery Hotel and Spa along Limuru Road, Gigiri, at 4pm.

Ongodo memorial service

A memorial service for the late journalist Ochieng Ongodo is set to be held today at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.

Ongodo, a veteran science journalist who had worked for both local and international media houses, passed away on April 17 at his home over a suspected heart attack.

He worked for years at the Standard Media Group and also at CGTN.

Ongodo served as the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Coordinator and Editor for the UK-based Science and Development Network (SciDev.Net) for 12 and a half years.

He also served on the Executive Board of the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) from 2008 to 2023.

He also worked for the National Geographic, Nature Medicine, The Guardian (UK), The Standard Media Group (Kenya) and the British Medical Journal.

Missing Voices Report Launch

Lobby group Missing Voices will launch 'The Brutal Policing' Report that sheds light on statistics and trends of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances in Kenya for the year 2024.

The event will be held at the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) offices off Silanga Road, Karen at 10am.

KCA on world press freedom day

Kenya Correspondents Association will host a breakfast meeting as part of a series of regional engagements and reflections on the World Press Freedom Day 2025 and the broader view of press freedom, the civic space in Kenya and global trends.

It will be held at Hillpark Hotel, Junction of Bunyala Road and Lower Hill Road, Nairobi.
