

President William Ruto on Thursday morning hosted a section of women from the Mathira constituency in Nyeri County Sagana State Lodge for breakfast to honour the late Ann Wanjiru Mumbuchi (Muchiru).
Muchiru, popularly known as Muchiru, a beloved community leader and mobilize, passed away last Sunday, March 30.
She was a grassroots leader, best remembered for steering the 1,000-member Mathira Women Choir with passion and dedication.
She played a pivotal role in community leadership and grassroots mobilization since the 1980s, leaving a lasting impact on local development politics.
In his address, Ruto praised her dedication to women empowerment in the constituency and participation in development activities.
