Ministry floats over 100 tenders to build varsities, KMTC hostels

The government, through the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, advertised a number of construction tenders.

Tenders for the construction of Technical and Vocational colleges, universities and Kenya Medical Training Colleges are among the 183 projects up for grabs.

In Bomet, there are five tenders.

These include the proposed construction of a Students’ Village and associated infrastructure in Bomet Central TVC (Bomet Central), proposed construction of a students village and associated infrastructure in Bomet KMTC (Bomet East) and proposed construction of hostels and related social amenities and infrastructure at Bomet University (Chepalungu).

Others are the proposed construction of a Students’ Village and associated infrastructure in Konoin TVC and the same at Sotik TVC. 

Elgeyo Marakwet has four projects, including the proposed construction of a Students’ Village and associated infrastructure in Kipsoen TVC (Keiyo North), a similar initiative in Chepsirei TVC (Keiyo South), another in Kapcherop TVC (Marakwet West) and one in KMTC Kerio Valley Campus in Marakwet East.

Garissa will also benefit from the projects at Balambala TVC in Balambala constituency, in Daadab VTC in Dadaab constituency and one in Bura East VTC in Fafi constituency.

Other similar projects are in the Garissa Township constituency, in Ijara TVC in Ijara constituency and in Lagdera constituency.

The submission/closing date for the tenders is between 10 April and 17 at 9 am.

In Nairobi, the Co-operative University of Kenya Student Village Accommodation with associated social amenities and infrastructure and the Multimedia University of Kenya Student Village Accommodation have also been flouted in the tender.
