Students, teachers and management of St Joseph Mutumbu Girls in Gem, Siaya county were filled with joy as they received a Sh10 million bus donated by President William Ruto.
On Tuesday, area MP Elisha Odhiambo presented the bus to the school on behalf of the head of state.
“Happy to report that H.E the President Dr William Ruto has committed to keep his promises to the people of Gem,” Odhiambo said while giving the bus.
The elated MP added;
“We have today as the President promised, received a brand-new bus for Mutumbu Girls school.”
The President had promised to donate a bus to the school when he toured the Nyanza region in October last year.
During the visit, the President also graced a Thanksgiving celebration for the MP.
Odhiambo said the upgrade of the Akala market has also been on course as the head of state promised.
This, he said, is among other projects that are on course.
“We deeply thank H.E. the President and assure him of our readiness to always work with him,” he said.
During the visit last year, Ruto unleashed a bag of goodies in Siaya County, assuring residents that they were part of his government.
He said under his watch, no region would be excluded from development because all Kenyans pay taxes.
