Former Bumula Member of Parliament (MP) Mwambu Mabonga has trashed allegations that there was graft in the Bumula NG-CDF kitty during his reign as the MP.
Speaking at Kimwanga Special School for the hearing impaired (deaf) on Sunday, Mabonga said no single cent was squandered during his regime.
“I can tell you without blinking that no NG-CDF money was misused. You can move around the constituency and audit my work delivery,” Mabonga told the press.
Mabonga said during his time as MP, he transformed over 100 semi-permanent schools adding that his work was to ensure that the institutions acquired modern infrastructures.
Mabonga asked leaders opposed to him to allow the investigating agencies to carry out a probe.
“In schools where we could not establish modern classrooms, renovations were done to make the buildings last longer,” Mabonga stated.
He noted that there are things that MPs in the 12th parliament did that the 13th parliament is enjoying now citing an increment of NG-CDF for large constituencies like Bumula and Kanduyi.
Initially, Mabonga said that all constituencies were getting equal NG-CDF shares.
Mabonga asked leaders currently in office to deliver what they promised to the people.
“Since I handed over power, you have never seen me anywhere antagonising what the current MP is doing,” he said.
Mabonga who serves as chairman of the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board in the country said he partnered with the Lions Club of Eldoret to donate much-needed items to disabled learners in three Bungoma schools.
The Chairman noted that the exercise will continue affirming that special schools in other regions will benefit too.
Among the items that were donated included; wheelchairs, foodstuffs, mattresses, bed sheets, and water tanks.
St. Dennis Libolina and Joy Valley special schools also received donations.
