A Kajiado pastor who went missing last Saturday and turned up on Tuesday night in Kitengela requesting to be taken to hospital, has claimed he was kidnapped.
Rev William Mosonik of Jesus Exaltation Church in Kajiado told his family he was abducted at a Kitengela bus station at 5.30pm.
He spoke after he was discharged from Pona Hospital.
Mosonik said he wanted to board a matatu to take him to Kajiado town, so he could take another matatu to Oloilalei Jesus Exaltation Church in Kangere for a seminar, but was confronted by four people who pushed him into a car and drove off.
His brother Pastor John Mako said Mosonik told them he was blindfolded as soon as the kidnappers pushed him into the car.
“My brother told us that after he reached a slum in Nairobi, he was taken to a house. His hands and legs were tied. They took all the money he had and kept him there for three days,” he said.
Mako said Mosonik is diabetic and he did not access medication for the three days he was in the hands of his kidnappers. They did not give him food, he said.
Mako said on Tuesday evening, his brother was taken out of the house and the kidnappers walked him a short distance before removing the cloth covering his face. They left him stranded.
“Because of his desperation as his sugar levels were low, he asked the first person he saw to show him where he could board a matatu to Kitengela,” Mako said.
He said a Good Samaritan took him to Nairobi and helped him into a Kitengela-bound matatu.
On his way to Kitengela, he told the family he asked the conductor to help him with his phone so he could call them.
Asked whether he could remember the slum where he had been taken by his abductors, Mosonik said he left the place exhausted and could not remember.
Mako said on arrival to Kitengela town, his brother looked weak and confused.
Kitengela police station OCS David Shani said on Thursday he has offered to counsel Mosonik as soon as he recovers.
