President William Ruto will on Tuesday receive the visiting Prime Minister of the Czech Republic at State House
PM Petr Fiala is in the country for a 3-day official visit.
Fiala's visit comes barely days after Kenya hosted King Charles III and Queen Camilla who were in the country from October 30 and left on Friday, November 3, 2023.
He arrived in the country on Sunday, where he was received by Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi.
According to Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi, the Czech Republic PM's visit will strengthen partnerships between the two countries.
He also noted that several bilateral agreements between the two countries will be signed.
"The visit by Petr Fiala aims to strengthen cooperation, collaboration, and partnership between Kenya and the Czech Republic across various sectors. Several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed between the two nations during his visit," Mudavadi said.
Defence CS Aden Duale noted that the Czech Republic has proven to be a dependable ally of Kenya.
He added that PM Fiala will also attend the Kenya-Czech Business conference, visit cultural sites and hold Defence and Security meetings with relevant players and stakeholders.
"As Kenya continues to further and cement its cordial ties with other nations, the Czech Republic has proven a strategic and dependable ally," he said.
On Monday, Fiala gave an opening speech at the opening of a Czech-Kenyan business forum in Nairobi.
He highlighted the possible deepening of cooperation between his country and Kenya in the defence sector.
Fiala also said Czechia could help stabilise Kenya’s energy infrastructure.
He also spoke about possible cooperation in healthcare and agriculture, as well as the opportunity to establish new contacts in the fields of information technology and space research.
The forum was attended by representatives of nearly two dozen Czech firms and over 70 Kenyan companies.
