Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has said that the Kenya Kwanza bipartisan team is not serious about the talks.

Speaking on Tuesday, Karua said one of the main issues in the bipartisan was the cost of living, which is not being addressed.

"The cost of living and the prices of fuel have spiked when the talks are supposed to be commencing to deal with those very issues," she said.

"We are telling our team, kindly be woke so that if the Kenya Kwanza regime is not serious in this talk then we should know of our next move."

She accused President William Ruto of embracing rebel MPs who have been 'disciplined' by the ODM party.

Her sentiments come as the National Dialogue Committee enters a critical phase of the Kenya Kwanza-Azimio la Umoja talks.

Kenya Kwanza team leader Kimani Ichung'wah, who is also the National Assembly Majority leader, said the committee has "begun the most difficult work of the dialogue."

"We have considered reports of the technical teams and we have issues of both convergence and divergence," he said.

Leader of the Azimio side, Kalonzo Musyoka, said the team will meet on Thursday ahead of their scheduled meeting to agree on "measures of actual engagement."

"There are issues we have agreed on but there are others we are yet to strike a common ground. For example, we have agreed on the reconstitution of the IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission) but we have not agreed how," he said.

He said that the team has agreed to look into the cost of living as an interim measure.

The two teams have agreed that the forthcoming constituency boundaries delimitation should be completed within the deadline envisioned by the constitution.
