A man who accidentally fell on some smokies and choma sausages that were on sale in Uthiru has been charged in court.

Brian Mwangi was charged before Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi where he pleaded guilty and told the court that it was an accident.

“I fell on them by an accident, I urge the court to have mercy on me,” he told the court.

The charge sheet read in court says that the accused person committed the offence on September 16 in Uthiru Shopping Centre in Dagoretti Sub-County.

The court heard that Mwangi also damaged the grilled jiko.

The damaged items were worth Sh12,000.

While explaining what transpired, court prosecutor Jeff Musyoka said an employee of the restaurant was catering for the customers at the club entrance when the accused person in the company of another man passed by.

“They came and preferred to be customers and thereafter some confrontation arose which led to the damage of the said property,” Musyoka told the court.

The accused person explanation of the ‘accident’ as the main cause of the damage made the court enter a plea of not guilty and was released on Sh10,000 cash bail.

The case will proceed on September 26 for pre-trails.
