Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando has insisted the Bipartisan talks that are being held through the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) are a waste of time.

In a statement on Thursday, Kabando said the talks are not addressing key issues that are of concern to the people of Kenya, including the cost of living.

He said they are instead after creating unnecessary offices for people.

He went on to state that public funds should not be used to facilitate the engaging parties.

"Bomas talks are a waste: 1. Not addressing #CostOfLivingCrisis, it won't. 2. Creating a Leader of the Opposition office is unnecessary. 3. Ruto is hellbent, wildly so, to cannibalise opposition to reinvent One Party totalitarianism. 4. Not a coin of Taxes should pay Bomas talkers," he said.

Kabando's remarks come a day after the NADCO leadership met National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula over funding.

The meeting which lasted slightly under two hours was attended by Wetang'ula, NDC co-chairs Kimani Ichungwah and Kalonzo Musyoka, Opiyo Wandayi, and EALA MP Hassan Omar.

Kabando has remained a critic of the Bomas talks despite having backed the talks between President William Ruto and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

In August, Kabando criticised the issues that had been set for talks by the Azimio side saying that they were a mockery of the protests.

He said most of the issues raised by the Raila Odinga-led side were all about political power.

Kabando went on to say that as long as bringing an end to corruption, extrajudicial killings, and impunity are not addressed, then it is all politics.

He added that without seeking justice all the efforts put in demos will go down the drain.
