Ulinzi shot down National Youth Service 55-18 in a Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league clash at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
However, coach Nickson Oyaro remained unamused, saying had his charges been more lethal in front of goal, they would have rattled in more goals and posteda resounding victory.
“We played well but there are a few mistakes we made that must be corrected going forward. We were off-target in most of our attempts. Had we converted them, our scores would have been more,” he noted.
“But we were playing only our first game of the season and we will work on that. As for now, we will welcome the win and also take one game at a time.”
The soldiers, who finished runner-up to champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), hope to go one better this year. They took a 28-13 lead at the break and went all the way.
