County inter school sports competition came to an end today in Wajir Town.
The event saw several secondary schools participate in various sports like football; volleyball, netball and basketball.
It was attended by county sports officials and team from Siyad Foundation.
Khorof Harar boys Secondary school won the football tournament, Chief Adano girls Secondary school won the volleyball and Wajir High and Wajir Girls both winning basketball for boys and girls, respectively.
Wajir County Secondary school sports association in partnership with Siyad Foundation sponsored the event.
"Our engagement on school activities remain a strong pillar in the foundation to to boost education in the region. We have offered uniforms; trophies for all winning categories," said patron and founder of Siyad Foundation Hajji Siyad.
The winning teams will proceed to the regional that will be held in Wajir county.
The county department of sports vowed to support talents and hold such tournaments every term for schools.
It is not the first time businessman and philanthropist Hajji Siyad is sponsoring tournaments.
The just concluded Siyad Tournament that brought together sport fanatics in Kenya and beyond is a true testimony that the Siyad Foundation is keen in nurturing and supporting talents, education sports officials said.
The foundation's motto is dubbed “Yes to Sports; no to Radicalization.”
