Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna now says Trade CS Moses Kuria's attacks on the media are systemic and as such, the CS needs help.
The senator said Kuria's outbursts cannot even be blamed on alcohol because that will be a misdiagnosis.
Sifuna spoke after the Azimio side in the Senate walked out as soon as Kuria arrived to answer questions concerning his ministry.
The lawmaker said Kuria should not have been allowed into the Chamber to sanitise his misconduct.
"In the case of Moses Kuria, blaming alcohol is a misdiagnosis. His problem is far more systemic and he needs to seek help given the sort of outbursts we are seeing directed at the media. We will not allow people like Kuria to use the hallowed halls of Parliament to sanitise their misconduct," Sifuna said.
Kuria has been hitting headlines since Monday following his derogatory description of the Nation Media Group.
The attacks began on Sunday when during a church service, the CS said he would sack any government official who advertises with the media house.
He accused the media company of propelling negative stories about the government.
Kuria's outburst followed an expose by NTV, a station under the group where it alleged that Cabinet Secretaries were responsible for the drop in the price of edible oils.
The move allegedly made the taxpayer lose about Sh5.6 billion.
Speaking after answering questions at the Senate, Kuria insisted that he has no apologies to make over his utterances against the media.
The CS said he has worked in the media and has been a media owner before and knows when a media house is being used.
