Sombre mood as family, friends mourn Moody Awori's daughter

Family and friends on Wednesday congregated to mourn Marya Elizabeth Awori at Consolata Shrine Westlands.

Marya, daughter of former vice president Moody Awori, died on the evening of June 6, 2023, but news of her death was made public on Wednesday, June 7, by Speaker Amason Kingi.

As you approach the church, the sombre mood was evident as mourners came clad in different regalia.

She left behind her husband Michael Adjibodou and two children Folsade Adjibodou and Adebayo J Adjibodou.

Marya was born on December 24, 1968 and is the last born to former Vice President Moody Awori and Rose Awori.

Marya worked as a Principal Clerk Assistant I, in the Directorate of Legislative and Procedural Services in the Senate.

She joined the Parliamentary Service on December 6, 2005, as a Personal Assistant in the then office of the Vice President and Leader of Government Business.
