Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has penned down a special message dedicated to his late mother as the world celebrates Mother's day.
"Today (Sunday), as the World honors Mothers for their unconditional love, unwavering support and countless sacrifices," he said.
The CS said he is who he is today because of his late mother, Mama Hawa Kosar Shurie.
Duale lost his mother on August 25, 2020.
"Were it not for my mother, I would not have grown from the herdsboy, strutting the dust and thistles of the North, into who I have become; the CS Defence," Duale said.
The CS further said he was happy the story of his mother - as is of other mothers - is also the first of the 32 chapters of my book, 'For the Record'.
Duale said that he dedicates all the proceeds from the sale of his book to charity.
"My little way of giving back to the community; just like she taught me, he said.
Giving advice, Duale told Kenyans to treat their mothers well as they are the doors to blessings.
"Your mother is a door of mercy that Allah opened for you. Don’t close it," he said
CS Duale launched his book titled For The Record on Thursday in an event graced by President William Ruto.
Duale’s book is an inside story of power, politics, lawmaking and leadership in Kenya.
The book’s foreword was penned by his close loyal friend, President Ruto.
In his acknowledgement of the book, the CS who is the former MP for Garissa Town, says penning the book was not a walk in the park.
“It requires hours and hours of reading, writing, re-writing and then editing. It is impossible to do such a task alone, more so, if you are a busy politician serving thousands of hardworking and committed citizens,” Duale said.
He also acknowledges several people, some who remain unanimous, for their contributions to the book.
