Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo has urged his constituents to turn up in large numbers to welcome President William Ruto in Nyamira.

The MP said Ruto is visiting the county to inspect development projects in his capacity as Head of State and government.

Gisairo said the President was welcome to tour the county.

"The President is not coming to Kitutu Masaba to play politics, he is coming as our president, there is a difference,"  Gisairo said.

Raila's ODM party has insisted that its members don't recognise Ruto as President.

The President is expected in Kitutu Masaba to commission the construction of the Gekano-Rigoma-Amabuko Road on Thursday.

The strategic roads cut across Gisairo's constituency with 33KM expected to be tarmacked by the national government.

"Let us turn up in large numbers to welcome the president of the republic, even for those who wear the ODM hat, come because the projects he will launch will benefit everyone," Gisairo said.

The MP said, while he is an ODM member, he is welcoming the president because the projects lined up are for the general good of the people.

"There is a time when I wear the ODM hat and when I represent Kitutu Masaba constituents," he said.

The president will also launch a housing project in Sironga, Nyamira county on Thursday.
