Homa Bay Woman Representative Bensouda Atieno has said her county will be cleaner than Kisumu in two months.

Speaking in Parliament Bensouda said she is very proud of the elected leaders in the county saying they are very competent.

"I see Homa Bay by passing Kisumu in terms of environmental cleanliness," she said

Bensouda further said the people of Homa Bay are intelligent and elect leaders who know their work.

"Mr Speaker, in Homa Bay, you don't go campaigning, the people voted in have a very strong personality," she said.

Leaving Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma in Stitches, Bensouda said, the people of Homa Bay outdid themselves by electing the first woman governor in the Nyanza region.

"Since our Governor Gladys Wanga took the oath of office, we have been seeing changes for the last six months, when I pray I know everything is good, we are moving on," she added.

Keenly laying her projects in the county, Bensouda said she has since launched the 'Mama County Back to School' programme.

"The programme has five components, gender-based violence, sexual reproductive health, bursary allocation, academic mentorship and sanitation," she said.

"I am very competent."

She added that with the five female leaders in the county, Homa Bay will be named number one for development, and cleanliness
