The family of former Education CS George Magoha has settled on February 11, 2023, as his burial date.
According to former Basic Education PS Julius Jwan, Magoha will be buried in Umiru, Nyamininia sub-county.
Magoha, 71, passed on January 24 at the Nairobi Hospital.
Since then, several leaders have continued to troop to the home to condole with the family.
A farewell caravan will be held in Nairobi to honor Magoha ahead of the burial on February 11, 2023.
Jwan, who is leading the team making funeral arrangements, announced that a farewell caravan will be held in Nairobi on February 8 to honor the late Magoha.
He announced that the caravan will go through places that defined the adult life of Magoha.
“The caravan will go through KNH College of Health Sciences, KMPDU offices, KNEC, St Georges Primary, State House Girls, University of Nairobi, and finish at Starehe Centre,” Jwan said.
“Magoha’s last tour as Education CS was always in the midst of children and students which explains why we are focusing on the schools where he had a major impact on the young people” he added.
On February 9, 2023, a requiem mass will be held at Consolata Shrine in Westlands starting at 9 am.
Revealing more details Jwan said on February 10, Magoha’s body will arrive at Township Primary School in Yala at 1 pm before a procession leading to St Mary’s school. Subsequently, a holy mass to follow at his home in Umiru, in Nyamninia.
A funeral mass will take place at the Odera Kang’o University campus in Yala on February 11, starting at 10 a.m.
