He said long-lasting peace in DRC will promote the region's economic prosperity

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta lead a one week conference with the technical advisory team from EAC member states in Mombasa.

They engaged in deliberations aimed at developing a road map towards enhancing the process of restoring long-lasting peace, security, and stability in the eastern part of DRC.

In a statement, Uhuru called on the newly formed team to work together to assist in achieving the objective set out by the Heads of State and governments in the region.

"I want to thank all of you for agreeing to be part of the team, to assist in this endeavour of trying to find lasting peace in one of our neighbouring country DRC," he said.

Uhuru further thanked the EAC secretariat for organising and facilitating the conference.
