President William Ruto now says that all elected leaders must work together to deliver the agenda of the people of Kenya.
Speaking on Monday after a meeting with Jubilee Party MPs, Ruto said that the country cannot move forward if other leaders are left behind.
"We must build a bigger and better team that will work together to effectively prosecute the agenda of the people of Kenya. We cannot move our country forward by leaving others behind," he said.
Jubilee is part of the larger Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance that ran against Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance in the August 2022 polls.
Some officials from the party have largely remained critics of Ruto's administration while others have chosen to work with the president.
The meeting was held at State House, Nairobi. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was also present.
The move is seen as part of the President's strategy to counter opposition chief Raila Odinga who is on Monday set to hold a mega rally in Nairobi.
On Sunday, Kenya Kwanza politicians urged President Ruto to reach out to the Jubilee faction of the Azimio coalition to parry away the opposition offensive.
Those present include EALA MP Kanini Kega, Nominated MP Sabina Chege, Irene Njoki (Bahati), Zachary Kwenya Thuku ( Kinangop), Shadrach Mwiti ( Douth Imenti), Mark Mwenje ( Embakasi West), Amos Mwago ( Starehe), Dan Karitho ( Igembe Central), Stanley Muthama ( Lamu West) and Joseph Githuku (Lamu Senator).
