Daniel Otieno at Milimani Law Courts where he has been charged with failing to satisfy customer needs on December 7, 2022.

A local tailor has this morning been arraigned for taking money from two of his customers and failing to deliver on the outfits.

It is alleged that in 2019, Daniel Otieno on diverse dates between November 20 and December 11, he obtained Sh29,400 from Nicholas Muturi by falsely pretending that he would make five suits and purchase five shirts for him a fact he knew to be false.

On the second count, it’s alleged that on January 20 this year he obtained Sh 14,000 from Loren Anyango by lying to her that he could make three pieces of clothes, two suits and one Ankara Jacket.

Otieno has told Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni that he is a tailor and those are his regular clients.

He told the court that in the first case he did make the suits and Muturi took them home but he called two weeks later telling him the suits were big.

He returned them for him to reduce and upon reduction, he said they could not fit him.

Otieno said his clients asked for a refund but he suggested that he brings new material so that he could make new clothes but he refused.

Micheni has asked him to try and settle the matter with his clients out of court.

The case will be mentioned on December 20
