Kenya and the DR Congo will form a joint committee on security, trade and investment, President William Ruto has announced.
Ruto stated that Kenya reaffirms its support to restoring peace and stability in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and the region at large.
“Without peace, no country or individual can have the space to prosper,” Ruto said on Monday after a meeting with his host President Felix Tshisekedi.
Ruto is in Congo as part of the ongoing peace efforts to neutralise the M23 movement which has continued to wreck the country.
Kenya is among the East African Community (EAC) member states that have sent troops to the Central Africa nation.
The visit by the President comes just a week after his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta's toured the country as he sought to have a lasting solution in the country.
Ruto will later jet out to Korea for a three-day working visit.
