Wavinya Ndeti nominates KMPDU's Daniel Yumbya as Health CEC

None of Alfred Mutua's CECs was retained in the 10-member nominee list.

Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council CEO Daniel Yumbya has been nominated as the Machakos County Health CEC.

Governor Wavinya Ndeti named Yumbya in her ten-member list of Cabinet nominees on Monday.

"Pursuant to Article 179 (2)b of the Constitution of Kenya, I have nominated and forwarded to the County Assembly of Machakos the following persons as members of the executive committee for respective positions," Ndeti said.

She was flanked by Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi while unveiling the nominees at a press conference at her office in White House, Machakos town.

She named Consolata Mutisya as the Devolution CECM, Onesmus Muia (Finance), Daniel Yumbya (Health), Nathaniel Nganga (Roads and Transport), Philip Kilonzo (Lands) and Bishop Joel Nzomo (Agriculture).

Other nominees are Mutanu Raphael (Water), Joyce Mwikali (Education), Sharon Mutua (Trade) and Onesmus Muasya (Gender).

"I call upon the honorable Speaker and members of the county assembly to fasten the vetting process in order to enable the nominated county executive members take up their positions and assist me and my deputy governor in serving the people of Machakos County," Ndeti said.

She announced that she will be forwarding the list of chief officers as soon as she receives the names of successful persons from the Machakos Public Service Board.

The nomination of the new Cabinet members now sets the stage for the exit of CEC's who served under former governor Alfred Mutua.
