Moses Kuria to disband Chama Cha Kazi party, join UDA

He said he has already written to the registrar of political parties seeking dissolution of his party.

Trade Cabinet Secretary nominee, Moses Kuria is set to disband his Chama Cha Kazi party to join the United Democratic Alliance.

Speaking at a funeral in Elgeyo Marakwet, Kuria said he has written to the registrar of political parties Ann Nderitu seeking dissolution of his party.

"Just yesterday I was the leader of Chama cha Kazi. I dissolved it and went to the registrar and joined UDA. I  want us to join hands and once nominations are over you give us the name of the candidate," he said.

The former Gatundu South MP called on area residents to elect a UDA senator when a by election is called after Senator Murkomen Kipchumba was nominated to the cabinet.

Murkomen was nominated to serve as the Cabinet Secretary for Roads, Transport and Public Works by President William Ruto.

Speaking in the same event, Murkomen vowed to support anyone who will succeed him.

"Whoever will be vying just ask for my vote and then I shall vote for you, but the final decision on who will be your next senator is from the people. And I will support any Senator who will be elected a hundred percent," he said.

According to the political parties act, once the registrar has received a request, to fold a political party, she should within seven days gazette the dissolution of the party.
